Many campers pitched their tents on the beach in the Day Use Area, seemingly with permission (the camp hosts' site was just 20 yards away).

There are more blue hydrangias in this area than we had every seen, particularly at base of the hiking trails. Keep in mind that this area is National Forest, not National Park, so dogs are allowed on all trails.
