The Rose Creek Retreat is built on land overlooking the now "ghost towns" of Cottardi Station and Altoona
The Rose Garden Site rests right on the Columbia River with a restored cool, babbling creek running through. Over 30 varieties of tea roses give this site a more formal feel, while still being the best birding site, ensuring that it appeals to all the senses simultaneously. Here is operator Sol Mertz in front of the sleeping cabin in the Rose Garden Site.
Notice the carefully planted clover, designed to draw hungry deer closer to the campers and further from the tasty but less resilient heirloom roses.
