Fort Spokane Campground

Fort Spokane was the last outpost in the Old West, built at the confluence of the Spokane and Columbia Rivers.

The big surprise for me was that the campground was entirely separate from the actual Fort. This is probably for the best, as the Fort is a mere half-mile walk from the campground.

Fort Spokane had 50 buildings at its peak in 1888, mostly bunkhouses and out buildings. Only four original buildings remain.
