The first thing you see when pulling into the campground is the "newer loop" for sites 19-29 that border both the Nooksack River and the Mt. Baker Hwy. Sites are smaller, but smaller, shadier, and noisier.

The "older loop" (sites 19-29) has larger sites and prettier river views, although not all sites are on the river.

The Nooksack River and Horseshoe Bend Trail are Douglas Fir C.G.'s
most distinguishing feature.

Heather Meadows and Artist Point, further up Hwy 542, bring you face-to-face with both Mt. Shuksan and Mt. Baker... when the clouds lift, that is.

Mt. Baker has a tendency to hide under cloud cover...

... but Mt. Shuksan is always glad to come out and play.
